In June 2026, Barcis and Resiutta hosted the Open Days on inclusive mobility: two days dedicated to the presentation and practical testing of special bikes and solutions to promote the accessibility of the naturalistic routes of the Friuli Venezia Giulia mountains.
The initiatives have been implemented as part of I AM FVG – Inclusion and accessibility for mountains easy to live and enjoy, a project promoted by PromoTurismoFVG with the contribution of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Minister for Disabilities.
The Open Days involved the Natural Parks of the Friulian Dolomites and the Julian Prealps, the Municipalities of Barcis and Resiutta, Remoove, the park guides and various administrations, associations, and cooperatives in the area. The participants were able to try out vehicles suitable for cycling paths and solutions for accompanying on the trails, directly discussing the possibilities of making the enjoyment of the natural mountain environment more accessible.
The days also hosted the activities of the new edition of FVG with my eyes, an initiative promoted by the Monticolo&Foti Foundation – ETS in collaboration with Beyond that chair and with the support of PromoTurismoFVG.
In Barcis along the Old road of Valcellina
On June 5, 2026, in Barcis, the activity took place along the scenic Old road of Valcellina, within the Forra del Cellina Nature Reserve and in the territory of the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park.
During the day, participants were able to try out various means on bike paths and trails, from classic joelettes to electric bikes with different types of seats, tandems, or mountain wheelchairs, testing them on the ground and discovering new ways to explore nature.
Amid climbs, dirt paths, and practical tests, the Open Day transformed the theme of accessibility into a concrete experience, useful for understanding which solutions might work best in tourist and naturalistic itineraries.

In Resiutta in the Natural Park of the Julian Prealps
The next day, in Resiutta, in the heart of the Julian Prealps Natural Park, administrations, associations, local cooperatives, and Park guides were able to test the bikes along cycling paths and trails, checking their features, potential, and modes of use.
Through practical tests, comparison, and some aspects to tackle together, the morning demonstrated how adequate equipment, skills, and collaboration can open new possibilities for experiencing nature and participating in outdoor activities.
I AM FVG and the local associations: an important synergy
The days of Barcis and Resiutta fit in, like all the activities of AM FVG, with those already active and those that are emerging, organized by local associations that deal with daily life and leisure for people with different types of disabilities. One of these initiatives is the new edition of FVG with my eyes, promoted by the Monticolo&Foti – ETS Foundation in collaboration with Beyond that chair.
