Trekking” Great War” on the Natisone

This tour is organized by the Friulian agency Flumen Viaggi, specialized in multisensory tours with activities for blind or visually impaired people.

A route of exceptional historical and natural interest, in the heart of the Julian Prealps, straddling the Italian-Slovenian border is proposed. The treks immerse the hiker in the theater of the Battle of Caporetto. “We are suspended” between the Karst, the Friulian-Venetian plain, the Adriatic Sea, the Carnic Alps, and the Dolomites.

Participants will be accompanied to visit fortifications, trenches, artillery positions built by the 2nd Italian Army in the early years of the conflict. Curiosity, interest, and great suggestion are aroused by both the graffiti carved by the soldiers and the monuments in the war cemeteries and the original tombstones still preserved today.
