Cormons - FVG in motion 10 thousand steps of health

LENGTH

4000 meters

The village of Borgnano is located south of Cormons, at the foot of the Medea hill.

The starting point of the route is near the sports area, while the parking is located in Piazza della Repubblica close to the Church, not far from the sports center.

You can park in the area in front of the Church (photo 1), and then move to the right of it, continuing to the end of Piazza della Repubblica; at the corner between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Puccini, there is a directional arrow (photo 2-3) indicating a left turn. Via Puccini is an asphalted road without a sidewalk and with low traffic intensity (photo 4) that runs alongside the Cemetery on the right, while on the left you can see the sports area (photo 5). A little further ahead, the road ends at the sign indicating a left turn (photo 6), onto an asphalted road for a few meters.

Here is the information panel of the 10,000 steps accompanied by an arrow indicating the direction (photo 7). In the immediate vicinity there is the parking lot of the Cemetery (photo 8). Next to the information panel of the path there is a bench (photo 9).

You continue on a straight dirt road that runs alongside the sports fields used for archery (photo 10). From this point, there is a view of the landscape where you can see Borgnano and the Colle di Medea on one side (photo 11), while on the other side you can see the hills of Cormons.

After passing the sports fields (about 150 m from the start), the green arrow (photo 12) invites you to continue straight, ignoring the road that circles around the sports field (photo 13).

You arrive near a tree-lined avenue characterized by maritime pines (photo 14-15).

About 500m from the information panel, you cross an intersection without signs (photo 16).

Just over 700m from the start of the path, you can see a large vineyard on the left (photo 17).

About 150m further on, the main dirt road turns right, but the direction sign for the 10,000 steps (photo 18) indicates a left turn at a right angle to enter a long avenue bordered by pines (photo 19-20).

Just under 1.5 km from the information panel, you come across another intersection. The green arrow (photo 21) indicates to continue straight. It is noted that: the Google map of the route suggests turning left, thus reaching Borgnano with a shorter route, different from that indicated on the 10,000 steps FVG sign.

After about 1.80 km from the start of the route, the tree-lined avenue ends and it is necessary to turn left as indicated by the arrow (photo 22)

The new straight section, almost devoid of trees, continues up to the slopes of the hill of Medea (photo 23-24).

Before reaching the foot of the hill, there are a few more large pines on the sides of the road (photo 25-26).

Arriving at the foot of the Medea hill (about 2.8 km from the sign), the arrow indicates to turn left (photo 27), and not far away there is a resting area (photo 28).

The dirt road taken approaches the inhabited area (photos 29-30). At 3.1 km from the start, just before the houses, the path surface becomes asphalted.

About 3.25 km from the start of the path, there is a sign indicating the way to the village and to the parking area square (photos 31-32).

Upon reaching the parking lot, approximately 3.7 km are covered from the information panel of the 10,000 steps. The loop path closes at the corner with via Puccini, corresponding to the Sports Area, where a total of 4 km is covered.
